A Blessed Year!
December 29, 2014
Blessed is the best way to describe 2014. In fact, that's the best way to describe each and every day and month that we have here on earth. While the year certainly wasn't perfect, will any year ever be? So, instead, I choose to focus on things I'm grateful for, such as the successful launches of "Coby's Athlete and Career Series" and "Lainey's Singer and Career Series!" I feel so incredibly blessed to know that my books have landed in the hands, minds, and hearts of children across the country; in fact, I even had some sales in the UK!
The feedback has been so encouraging. I've received photos of children holding their new favorite books and I've heard over and over again from parents and educators that my message is needed. All of this encouragement is what fuels me to keep going because being an author takes a lot of work. Between crafting the stories, having them edited, working with my illustrator, releasing the books, and the never-ending marketing, it takes an incredible amount of work to get from concept to product.
Currently, I'm busy putting the finishing touches on two new books. One is returning me to my roots as I am releasing a new activity book for middle school language arts teachers to use with their students. The other title is Lainey's next book...drum roll please...I Want to Be a Singer and a Veterinarian (Lainey's Singer and Career Series, Book 2). I'm so excited about this release! It was a fun story to tell and I actually interviewed my good friend, Nathan Dicke, DVM, to tap into his knowledge about his work. I anticipate releasing this title in the spring.
I hope you, too, have had a blessed year and may 2015 be your best year yet!
